The International Sports Challenge

About

The International Sports Challenge 2026 is an event organised by students, for students, with the goal of bringing together international and exchange students in Newcastle. On Sunday, April 26 at City Stadium Park, it’s all about fun, sports, and meeting new people. Expect fun challenges, team games, and a bit of Olympic-style energy.

The event is organised by a group of students in collaboration with Lundgren Tours, an organisation that supports international student experiences. Thanks to them, the event gets extra support and is taken to the next level.

The idea? To create a fun and inclusive atmosphere where students from different countries can come together, connect, and just enjoy a great day.

Supporting

Action Foundation

Action Foundation is an award-winning charity based in Newcastle upon Tyne providing support to disadvantaged refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants across the North East. Through our supported housing, InterAction Drop-in and casework service, English language school and Young Lives project, we aim to plug a gap in existing provision and enable vulnerable migrants to:

  • avoid homelessness and extreme poverty
  • access vital services
  • increase their skills and employability
  • access legal support
  • integrate and live independently.

To do this we work closely with local and national organisations including the British Red Cross, Local Authorities, North East Law Centre and the West End Refugee Service. Our work with these organisations has enabled us to arrange family reunions and secure legal support for our beneficiaries with no recourse to public funds amongst a range of other support provision.
